| Is Mission Beach really that nice??? It's hard to
get you to believe when you hear reports on
the news og how wet everything is up here.
However, you have to understand that the wet
up here is not like down south.
We can
get 240mm of rain one day and the next day
everything is sunshine with most of all the
runoff headed out to sea. If you have
a look at the pics of Laceys Creek and
Kellys on Maria Creek in this site, those pics were taken 1
or 2 days after we had about 300mm of rain
on 13th Jan 2009.
Of course, there is far more than just
waterfalls and rainforest pools in Mission
Beach.
Click on this link
to have a look at some of the 14km of
pristine golden sandy beaches bordered by
rainforest and coconut palms that lead to
the Great Barrier Reef water of the Coral
Sea and nearby islands just offshore from
Mission Beach. |
